Following our recent post on our curved hand piecing tutorial we thought we should have some show and tell. This is a cushion we made using just one Nostalgia Apple Core Scrap pack. The pack contains 36 pre-cut Apple Cores and measures 18 inches square. All you need is to add a back, sew a flange approximately half way throught the outside rows, pop in a 14 inch pillow form and voila - you’re done. We think it’s pretty neat, don’t you?

We have added a new free tutorial to our website - this one is about curved piecing by hand and features our Apple Core shapes (although the same principles apply to hand piecing any curved seam).
We’re working on more tutorials. The next one will be curved piecing by machine :o)

Things have been humming along at Woodland Patches and we are very excited with our progress. Our Block of the Month packs are proving very popular - we can’t wait to see what’s being done with them. We have had some great feedback about our tutorials and we have been working on the next one.
Now for some show and tell. We recently finished a Double Diamond Hexagon Quilt in the Vintage Colourway and we’re really happy with the result. What do you think? Its amazing how quickly these blocks stitch up when they all ready to go. Our quilt measures 61″ x 84″ which is a generous single, it also looks great draped across a queen.
Our pre-cut Double Hexagon Diamond packs are available individually or with a discount for multiple packs - you can even get them as a Block of the Month.

After a few ups and downs we are finally ready to launch our new blog and get cracking with our new venture Woodland Patches. We have spent the last few months getting organised, cutting fabric, testing, cutting fabric, stitching samples, cutting fabric, building our new website and cutting fabric.
All that cutting resulted in, you guessed it, lots and lots of precision cut patchwork shapes that needed packaging. What better way than to have a packaging party?

As you can imagine, we needed some fuel:

With chocolate in our bellies we got the packing done and now all the yummy parcels are ready and waiting to go in the post. Maybe one or two will be coming to your house…
